Hey Guys!! In the hustle and bustle of score release and the sea of "Congratulations" I think it's easy to forget that not everyone crossed the finish line. So with that being said "PLEASE DO NOT GIVE UP!" In case you didn't know my story I'm going to share it with you.
I went into public accounting with the intention on rising through the ranks, becoming a CPA and dare I say "make partner" one day. Needless to say a few years in I was burned out and had issues passing the CPA. So I ended up leaving the firm after just a few short years.
Over the years I kept saying that I wanted to be a CPA but I always fell short of my goal. I made excuses for not studying and then made excuses as to why I was always a few short points away when I failed.
This went on for years and years. I can't tell you how much money I wasted during those years paying for exams and study materials. It was a mess.
Finally 8 yrs after my first CPA exam attempt something finally got into me and I decided that I really wanted to be a CPA but this time it was different because I was actually committed to doing what it took to pass each exam.
My attitude changed... the excuses were eliminated... my focus increased and finally I started passing exams. First Audit, then Reg and now today Financial.
I'm saying this to say that it's possible to come back from an exam failure. Failing an exam doesn't make you a failure. This is one of the hardest licenses to obtain in the WORLD! If it were easy there would a CPA on every street corner in the world and the license wouldn't have any value.
So for any of you struggling to prepare for your exam keep fighting the good fight!
If you've failed a time or two or maybe three it's not over for you either!!! Keep studying till your sick in the stomach and then take a break and come back to study some more.
The CPA exam is not for folks that are looking for a quick victory! This is truly a game of chess and not checkers!
Stay focused and remember you've got the Eye of the Tiger!
Love Ya'll,
Melantha
